Cycle Worlds 2014 Cruiser of the year, this is one of the rearer Ducati's as it was produced only in a 2014 model. Wicked fast and bold to look at! The Ducati Diavel Strada (Italian translates to "Devils Road") is the 2 wheel equivalent of a super cruiser, light and full of HUGE horsepower per pound!! Limited to 2014 production it is not many in numbers and destined to be a conversation piece for decades to come. Some love it, some wonder about it! Reminds me of the creature in Alien!
Powered by Ducati’s liquid-cooled, 1,198cc Testastretta 11˚ L-twin from the superbike, the Diavel bumps claimed horsepower from 150 to 162 thanks to a unique exhaust system, in our case you can add another 5% to crank out 170 horsepower with the performance package added (performance exhaust, ECU re-mapping and air filter). In typical Ducati fashion, it has a tubular-steel trellis frame, an aluminum single-sided swingarm, fully adjustable suspension, top-shelf Brembo brakes with ABS and chain final drive. It is also equipped with riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban) that alter throttle response, engine output and the Ducati Traction Control.
How did they come up with the name? The name was decided when an unnamed Ducati engineer first saw the prototype's 240mm-wide rear tire and exclaimed "ignurant comm al diavel!" This translates to "evil, just like a devil!" in the Bolognese dialect local to Ducati's Borgo Panigale factory.
