The rare (only 2 years of production 2013-14) Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Granturismo is equipped with all it needs to deal great with long journeys. Therefore, it comes with 73-litre panniers, a top case, Ducati’s Skyhook Suspension (DSS) and engine protection bars.
The motorcycle is built around an 1198.4 cc, Testastretta 11° L-Twin, liquid cooled engine with 4 Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder, a detuned version of the motor used in the superbike. The unit is mated to a six speed gearbox and delivers a maximum output of 150 hp (110.3 kw) at 9250 rpm and 124.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. In the summer of 2015 we updated the GT by adding a performance package from Termignoni, this includes the exhaust, intake/air filter and ECU (computer). This mod dropped several pounds off the bikes stock weight and added 5% more horsepower and torque!
For enhanced versatility, the Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Granturismo features Ride-by-Wire technology which offers three different engine mappings. Moreover, Ducati also gives you the possibility to choose between pre-set Riding Modes including Enduro, Urban, Touring and Sport.
The Multistrada 1200 won the 1205 Division of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 2010, 2011 and in 2012. In 2012 a Spider Grips Ducati Team Multistrada ridden by Carlin Dunne achieved the first sub 10 minute time for a motorcycle with a 9:52.819, only a bit over a second slower than the 2011 overall record. *reference Wiki.
